The miniature reflector or "MR" lamp represents a special class of reflectors. Available in 11/8 and 16/8 inch sizes, these lamps use a tungsten halogen bulb inside a very small reflectorized shell. They operate on a low voltage circuit that requires the use of a special transformer.

These lamps have become very popular in retail applications where high-end merchandise is displayed.

They are available in a variety of wattages and with beam spreads between 6 and 38 degrees.

The precise beam control allows the designer almost unlimited options for highlighting and creating contrast in a display. These lamps also have very high candle power numbers making them very efficient at illuminating very small spaces.
