ENVIRONMENT
The average fluorescent lamp contains about 50 milligrams of mercury. While this is a small amount, it may be enough to cause regulatory concern. There is currently no federal legislation defining the disposal requirements for fluorescent lamps. However, some state agencies have begun to address this important environmental issue. Disposal should always be done in accordance with applicable local, state and federal regulations. Your local EPA office or state environmental office should be able to assist you with any specific questions regarding lamp disposal.
